Discussions take place at various places across the site - within general courses, specific teams and cohorts, or alongside other learning material. They appear next to a text-box icon and display the number of new and total responses.
If your course contains discussions, you can contribute through starting a new thread or commenting on an existing one.
Starting a new thread
Add a thread to elaborate on a discussion topic. Click on the discussion you are interested in (for example, Icebreaker activity).
Click 'add new discussion thread' on the Discussion page. Add a title and content to your post, then click "Add Discussion thread". (Threads may be edited after they're posted).
Other learners may now reply to this thread with their own comments.
Adding a comment to a thread
Reply to individual threads in discussions by leaving a comment.
Click the thread you'd like to reply to and type your response into the text field. Click "comment" to post". You can also edit your reply after it's posted.
